About
“To me, design is a seductive and deeply captivating process. The more I create, the more intrigued I become. I tend to visualise spaces so vividly that I feel as though I have already experienced them, before inviting others to step into them in reality. My design is about an attitude, a feeling rather than just the look.” By her own admission, Patricia Ho Douven is an aesthete, a bibliophile, and a compulsive traveller. These instincts naturally inform her design approach, where each project unfolds like a carefully written novel. Guided by a strong sense of narrative and atmosphere, her spaces begin with a character. As the story evolves, so too do the interiors, revealing distinct personalities that shape the environment. Her early exposure to art under the guidance of a master artist laid the foundation for her sensitivity to composition and mood. Working with watercolour, pastel, and charcoal from a young age, she developed an instinct for layering, a quality that continues to define her work today. At White Jacket and Studio P, Patricia’s design ethos reflects a well-travelled and curious perspective. Rooted in multicultural influences, spaces are a present-day luxury – reduce the unnecessary but enlarge the experience.
